With German Chancellor Helmut Kohl at his side, President Bill Clinton dedicated "The Spirit of Berlin", a new U. S. Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft, during a morning ceremony on May 14, 1998 at Berlin-Tempelhof Airport, Germany. The event marked the 50th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, the historic effort to defeat the Soviet blockade of the city of Berlin.
	Berlin Mayor Eberhard Diepgen and Air Force Gen. John P. Jumper unveil the C-17A Globemaster III "Spirit of Berlin".
		The C-54 Skymaster "Spirit of Freedom" flies with the C-17A Globemaster III "Spirit of Berlin" over Germany.

The GLOBEMASTER Team

Three hundred Rangers from the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. jump from the C-17A Globemaster III "Spirit of Berlin" assigned to the 15th Airlift Squadron, Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., on Aug. 9, 2001, as the feature activity of a five-day convention. The convention is held yearly in different locations in honor of and respect for veterans of past and present.
